Shocking Murder in Bareilly: Retired Officer's Wife Found Dead
Bareilly Murder Case
A tragic incident has emerged from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where Sharda Yadav, the wife of a retired officer from the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU), was brutally murdered. The family claims that the young man they considered as a son is the prime suspect in this heinous act. The police have sent the body for an autopsy and are actively investigating the case.
Background of the Victim
Gajraj Singh, a retired officer from the LIU, lived in the Mardhinath area with his wife, Sharda Yadav, who was a simple homemaker. According to relatives, Rinku Yadav, a resident of Bihari Pur, frequently visited their home and gradually became very close to the family, with Sharda treating him like her own son.
Sharda Goes Missing
On Saturday afternoon, Sharda left home, stating she needed to deposit jewelry in the bank. However, she did not return. When her family could not locate her by late evening, they sought police assistance, but initial actions were not substantial. Consequently, the family began their own search.
Investigation Unfolds
Using surveillance and nearby CCTV footage, it was discovered that Varun had called Sharda at 11:54 AM on Saturday. Just four minutes later, she was seen getting into a car in the Mardhinath area, which belonged to Varun. This raised suspicions significantly.
Arrest and Confession
After the family provided the police with all relevant information, Varun was taken into custody on Monday evening. During intense questioning, he confessed to the crime, leading the police to recover Sharda's body near Jahaanabad in Pilibhit. The news of the body being found caused immense grief for the family. Varun is employed as a contractual worker with the municipal corporation.
Planned Execution of the Crime
Initial police investigations suggest that this murder was not a spur-of-the-moment act but rather premeditated. Varun ingratiated himself with the family, gained their trust, and then lured Sharda away at the right moment.
Evidence Collected
The police have also recovered Varun's car, which contained traces of blood. A heavy tool found inside the vehicle also bore bloodstains, leading authorities to suspect it was used to strike Sharda fatally. The family noted that Sharda often wore a gold chain and rings, weighing approximately six tolas, suggesting that greed might have been a significant motive behind the murder.
Post-Mortem and Ongoing Investigation
Upon learning of the incident, the City Superintendent of Police arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. The exact cause of death will be clarified after the report is received, although initial assessments indicate that severe head injuries led to her demise.
