Brutal Crime in Kailash Hills

A shocking revelation has emerged in the brutal murder and rape case of a 22-year-old daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer in Kailash Hills, South-East Delhi. Investigations revealed that the suspect, Rahul Meena, committed two heinous crimes across two states—Rajasthan and Delhi—within just 12 hours. While fleeing, he reportedly confessed to his cousin over the phone, saying, "I have committed a crime in Delhi, the police will catch me, and I am going to die now."

CCTV Footage and Phone Calls

CCTV footage captured Rahul leaving his home in Amar Colony while continuously talking on the phone. According to his mother, Mukesh Devi, he was conversing with his cousin Trilok. During the call, he allegedly stated, "I have committed a crime in Delhi, I am going to die, the police will catch me..." However, he denied involvement in the Alwar rape incident, claiming he only went to retrieve his mobile phone and did not harm the victim. Police sources also noted that both the victim's and the suspect's mobile phones are missing.

Timeline of the Crimes

Investigators confirmed that the accused targeted two victims in different states within a short time frame. On Tuesday night around 10:30 PM, Rahul allegedly broke into a neighbor's house in Alwar, assaulted her, and raped her. He is also accused of attempting to strangle the victim and threatening her not to tell anyone about the incident. An FIR has been registered based on her complaint.

Just hours later, Rahul traveled approximately 200 kilometers to Delhi, entering a housing society in Kailash Hills around 6:30 AM. He broke into the home of his former landlord at about 6:39 AM. The victim, an engineering graduate preparing for the UPSC exams, was alone at home. When her parents returned from the gym around 8 AM, they found their daughter lying in a pool of blood with the house ransacked.

Details of the Attack

According to police, Rahul used his prior knowledge of the house layout and security to gain entry. He allegedly forced his way into the victim's study room, attacked her with a lamp and another heavy object, and then strangled her. Police suspect that he sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious. He dragged her body from the study area to the roof, attempted to open a locker using her finger, and later broke it open with tools.

Afterward, he stole cash and jewelry, changed his blood-stained clothes, donned the victim's brother's attire, and fled the scene. A post-mortem conducted at AIIMS Delhi revealed that strangulation was the cause of death, with multiple scratches, bruises, and a broken nasal bone indicating a violent struggle. Forensic samples have been collected, and investigations into the sexual assault are ongoing.

Arrest and Evidence Collection

Delhi police have recovered over ₹1 lakh in cash and jewelry that was allegedly stolen from the victim's home. This recovery occurred at a hotel in Dwarka, where the suspect checked in after the crime. Police reported that the hotel payment was made using the stolen money.

CCTV footage showed Rahul entering the society around 6:28 AM wearing a yellow shirt and black pants, and leaving around 7:22 AM in different clothes with a bag on his back. Investigators believe he changed his clothes after the crime and briefly stopped at a nearby park.

Investigation into Motives

Authorities have revealed that Rahul was heavily involved in online gambling, including games like 'Teen Patti' and other gaming apps, and had borrowed money from several individuals. Police are currently identifying those who lent him money.

Family members claim that his visit to Delhi was related to a dispute over money and a mobile phone; they allege he came to retrieve his phone after losing money in a game. However, investigators are also exploring larger financial and behavioral motives behind the incident.

Background and Behavioral Analysis

Rahul had previously worked as a domestic help at the victim's home for about a year, hired through a recommendation from another officer. He was dismissed after his gambling addiction and financial irregularities came to light. Police reported that he had borrowed small amounts of money from the family for various tasks but failed to pay shopkeepers, instead purchasing items on credit.

Investigators have described him as having a violent nature, and sources indicate he was known for his aggressive behavior in his village. Reports suggest that his father is an alcoholic, and police are examining his background to understand his behavioral patterns.

Despite the severity of the crime, police sources noted that during questioning, Rahul showed little remorse for his actions and attempted to justify his behavior.
