What Happened?
The police investigation revealed that the murder took place in the Ranveerpur locality of the Sarai Lakhansi area, intertwined with themes of love, betrayal, and jealousy.
The deceased was identified as Shivam Singh, a resident of Hathota village in the Azamgarh district, who worked as a watchman at a treatment plant. He had become involved with a young woman who was already connected to several other men.
As the situation escalated, the woman's ex-boyfriend, Anmol Singh, grew increasingly upset when she ceased communication with him. Eventually, the woman also ended her relationship with Shivam, leaving him emotionally distressed.
Reports indicate that Shivam had previously attempted to prove his love by cutting his wrist in front of the young woman's coaching center, leaving marks on his body.
On the day of the incident, Shivam was seen intoxicated in the market of the young woman's village, where he encountered Anmol Singh. Under a premeditated scheme, Anmol lured him to a riverside under the pretext of a drinking party, accompanied by three accomplices.
Once there, they forced alcohol upon Shivam until he was completely inebriated. Subsequently, Anmol and his associates brutally attacked him with sticks, resulting in his death. After confirming he was dead, they discarded his body in the bushes and fled the scene.
Following the incident, as the case gained media attention and police intensified their efforts, the suspects panicked and attempted to hide with various relatives, but none offered them refuge. Ultimately, police apprehended the main suspect, Anmol Singh, along with another accomplice, Anchal Rajbhar, while two others remain at large.
Superintendent of Police Kamlesh Bahadur stated that although the body was initially unidentified, thorough investigation and evidence led to the case's resolution. Efforts to locate the remaining fugitives are ongoing.
