Shocking Incident: Police and CRPF Personnel Arrested for Alleged Gang Rape in Uttar Pradesh

In a disturbing incident from Amroha, Uttar Pradesh, four law enforcement officers, including two from the local police and two from the CRPF, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the gang rape of a 24-year-old woman from Haryana. The victim reported that she was lured under the pretense of visiting religious sites, only to be assaulted at a farmhouse. The police acted swiftly after she contacted them for help, leading to the apprehension of the suspects. Allegations of Gang Rape Involving Law Enforcement

Amroha (Uttar Pradesh): Authorities have detained two police officers from Uttar Pradesh and two personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in connection with the alleged gang rape of a woman from Haryana at a farmhouse in Amroha district, as confirmed by an official on Thursday.

The incident reportedly occurred in the Hasanpur region of Amroha. Among those arrested are a sub-inspector and a head constable from the Hasanpur police station, along with a sub-inspector and a head constable from the CRPF.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Lakhan Singh Yadav stated that the victim, approximately 24 years old and hailing from Fatehabad in Haryana, claimed she was contacted on September 20 by a female friend who invited her to meet CRPF Inspector Mohit, a resident of Saurang village in Muzaffar Nagar, to visit religious sites in Amroha.

The survivor met Mohit in Sonipat, Haryana, on September 21. They then traveled to Meerut, where Mohit was joined by his colleague, CRPF Head Constable Lalaram Yadav from Alwar, Rajasthan. On the evening of September 22, the two men allegedly transported the woman to Hasanpur, picking up SI Sanjay Tomar along the way.

The trio took her to a farmhouse on the Atra si-Hasanpur road, where they rented two rooms. According to the victim's account, police Head Constable Pramod arranged food and alcohol for the group. Later that evening, Mohit, Yadav, and Tomar allegedly took turns assaulting her. When Pramod attempted to enter the room and assault her, she managed to push him out, lock the door, and search for the police helpline online.

The survivor reached out to the police around 6 AM on Wednesday. Teams from the Hasanpur and Rajabpur police stations quickly responded, ensuring her safety and apprehending all four suspects. An FIR has been filed against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for abduction and gang rape.

All four individuals have been arrested and are currently in judicial custody. Following the incident, departmental proceedings have been initiated against the local sub-inspector, who has been suspended, and a report has been submitted to senior CRPF officials recommending strict disciplinary measures against the two paramilitary personnel.

According to Amar Pal Singh, the in-charge of Hasanpur Kotwali, the farmhouse where the alleged crime occurred is reportedly owned by an independent MLA from Uttarakhand. The police are currently interrogating the property manager as the investigation continues.
