Shocking Incident in Odisha: Minor Student Becomes Mother
Incident Overview
Odisha Latest News: A minor student in Kandhamal district gave birth to a child on March 1. However, her health has reportedly deteriorated significantly post-delivery, raising concerns among health officials and the administration.
After the holidays, the student returned to the hostel and continued attending school regularly, but her pregnancy went unnoticed for several months. Once the school administration became aware of her condition, they promptly informed her family and sent her home.
Health Concerns Post-Delivery
On March 1, 2026, the student gave birth at her residence. Unfortunately, her health has reportedly worsened significantly after delivery, prompting increased concern from health officials and the administration.
The headmaster of the school and the student's family have lodged a formal complaint at the local police station. An FIR has been registered, and a special team has been formed to investigate the matter.
Investigation into the Responsible Individual
The police are primarily investigating two aspects: identifying the individual responsible for the student's pregnancy and determining any negligence at the school and hostel levels. How did this situation remain unnoticed by the administration for so long?
Rabinarayan Mishra, the district welfare officer of Kandhamal, has taken a firm stance on the issue. He stated, “This matter has come to the administration's attention, and we have initiated an investigation under existing regulations. A thorough inquiry will be conducted to determine where the oversight occurred in hostel supervision. If any negligence is found on the part of the school administration, warden, or any staff member, strict legal action will be taken against them.”
Currently, the investigation will particularly focus on the monitoring system of the hostel and any potential negligence by the school management.
