In the Khitola area of Sihora, a 27-year-old man chose a gruesome method to end his life, lying down on a burning funeral pyre in the dead of night. This tragic event has plunged the entire locality into fear and mourning.

According to reports, a villager's last rites were performed around 5:30 PM on Saturday at the cremation ground by the banks of the Hirna River in Khitola. Following Hindu customs, the family left the burning pyre and returned home. However, as the flames flickered in the night, another tragedy was unfolding.

Disappearance and Discovery

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Sibbu Kol, also known as Shubham Kol. Family members revealed that Sibbu quietly left home around 3 AM on Saturday without informing anyone. When he did not return by morning, his family grew anxious. They reported his disappearance to the Khitola police station around 6 AM on Sunday.

The grim reality came to light when, at 7 AM, the family of the deceased returned to the cremation ground to collect the ashes. They were horrified to find another half-burnt body lying atop the smoldering remains.

Upon receiving the news, Khitola police station chief Raman Singh and his team arrived at the scene to take possession of the body.
