Disturbing Assault in Delhi's Welcome Area

A troubling incident has emerged from the Welcome area of Delhi, where a woman was brutally attacked simply for refusing to allow her only son to live with his wife as a house husband. The victim, identified as Babli (name changed), resides in the Kabir Nagar area with her family. Her son Rohit (pseudonym) married a woman named Kashish in January 2025.

Shortly after their marriage, minor disputes began to arise between the couple. On the night of April 26, a heated argument broke out between Rohit and Kashish. Allegedly, Kashish called her parents, Gulshan and Reena, to intervene.

Pressure to Become a House Husband Leads to Violence

Upon their arrival, Kashish's parents began pressuring Rohit to stay with them as a house husband. When Babli opposed this and refused to send her son, the in-laws became enraged.

Reports indicate that Gulshan and Reena unleashed a violent attack on Babli, kicking and punching her. The assault was so severe that they slammed her head against the floor and struck her face repeatedly. As a result, Babli suffered a broken nose and began bleeding profusely.

Hospitalization and Police Action

Babli was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where her condition remains critical. Based on her complaint, the police have filed charges of attempted murder against her in-laws, Gulshan and Reena, along with others involved. Authorities are currently searching for the fleeing suspects and are advancing their investigation using CCTV footage.
