Disturbing Crime in Bihar
Crime News: A horrifying incident has left the residents of Lakhisarai district in Bihar in shock during the sacred occasion of Mahashivratri. In a village under the jurisdiction of Medni Chowki police station, an 8-year-old girl became the victim of extreme cruelty.
On Sunday morning, between 9 and 10 AM, the young girl sought permission from her mother to pick flowers for worship and headed towards a nearby garden. At that moment, 50-year-old Gopal Mishra, a local resident, took advantage of the situation. He lured the girl into his home and assaulted her in a locked room.
Hearing the girl's cries, a nearby tea vendor and other villagers grew suspicious. They peered through the window and were met with a horrifying sight. Enraged, the villagers broke down the door and rushed inside, finding the girl in a bloodied and distressed state, while the perpetrator was apprehended on the spot.
Upon receiving the report, police officer Chittaranjan Kumar and SDPO Shivam Kumar arrived at the scene with a significant force. Gopal Mishra was arrested at his residence and subsequently placed in judicial custody. The FSL team collected crucial evidence from the scene, including blood stains on the bed, sheets, and pillow, as well as injuries on the accused's body.
According to villagers, Gopal Mishra lived alone after his wife and children left him a decade ago. He was already notorious for inappropriate behavior towards women and girls, although no formal complaints had been filed against him. The victim was immediately admitted to Lakhisarai Sadar Hospital, where her condition remains critical.
A team of doctors is closely monitoring her physical and mental health. SDPO Shivam Kumar stated that the case will be expedited in a fast-track court. The police aim to present all evidence in court within a month to ensure the accused receives the harshest punishment. This incident raises serious concerns about safety, particularly regarding the protection of minors in society.
