Shocking Incident: 16-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Gang-Raped on Moving Bus in Delhi

Disturbing Case of Assault on a Minor

A 16-year-old girl has reportedly been the victim of a gang rape incident involving a bus driver and conductor while traveling on a sleeper bus in Delhi on the night of August 4. Both suspects have since been apprehended by authorities.

The victim, a Class XI student from Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, had left her home after a disagreement with her mother and was en route to her cousin's residence in Noida Sector 63. Caught in heavy rain at Pari Chowk in Greater Noida around 9 PM, she accepted a ride from the bus crew, who falsely promised to take her to her destination.

The bus, which had been temporarily removed from service for repairs at a workshop in Surajpur, traveled approximately 43 kilometers to Kashmere Gate. According to her report, the conductor, Sandeep, 26, made unwanted advances shortly after she boarded, leading to both he and the driver, Kuldeep, 39, assaulting her while threatening her life if she resisted.

After being abandoned near Kashmere Gate, the girl managed to reach a nearby police station using an auto-rickshaw. The Delhi Police quickly utilized CCTV footage to locate the bus, arresting both suspects—who are residents of Kanpur—within hours from a parking area in Timarpur.

During a forensic examination, police discovered strands of the victim's hair inside the bus. Further forensic analysis of the vehicle is currently ongoing. An officer stated, 'The police informed the girl's family about the incident that same night and summoned them to Delhi. She was returned to her family after all necessary procedures were completed.'
