Shocking Family Feud: Man Tied and Assaulted in Gajapati District

In a disturbing event stemming from a family conflict, a man was allegedly tied to a post and severely beaten by relatives of his estranged wife in Gajapati district on Wednesday.
Authorities reported that the victim, Jalant Baliarsingh from Budishila village, was rescued on Thursday morning after enduring a night bound to the post in Garadama village.
Jalant had married Subhadra Malabisoi from Garadama village three years prior, but due to ongoing marital issues, Subhadra's family had taken her back to her parental home 11 months ago.
Both families have filed complaints with the local police, and the case is currently under judicial consideration.
The incident unfolded when Jalant visited Garadama village to collect his Public Distribution System (PDS) rice.
Upon learning of his presence, Subhadra's relatives and some villagers allegedly assaulted him.
They restrained him to a post in the village square and continued to beat him.
The Adaba police were alerted, intervened to calm the situation, and successfully rescued Jalant.
As of now, no formal complaint has been registered regarding this incident, according to Adaba IIC Shubhranta Panda.
