Shocking Family Dispute Leads to Tragic Death in Rajasthan

Tragic Incident in Barmer District

In 2023, a shocking incident occurred in the Jogiyon Ki Dadi area of Barmer district, Rajasthan, leaving local residents in disbelief. This case stemmed from a dispute between two individuals living within the same family, which escalated into a murder accusation.

According to police records, 50-year-old Malaram Jogi had been in a live-in relationship with his younger brother's wife, Pawni, for nearly three years. It was reported that Malaram's first wife had passed away, leaving him with eight children. Subsequently, he began living with his brother's wife, with whom he had four children, and they were reportedly cohabiting as a couple.

On the night of the incident, a heated argument broke out between the two. Initial investigations revealed that during the dispute, Malaram allegedly struck the woman. The altercation intensified, and according to police, Pawni grabbed Malaram's sensitive areas, causing him to fall and sustain severe internal injuries. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Upon receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy while initiating an investigation. Charges were filed against the accused, Pawni, under sections 302 (murder) and 323 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code. She was arrested and is currently being interrogated.

The station officer stated that the exact reasons for the dispute would be clarified only after further investigation. This incident has been recorded as one of the events in 2023 where familial and social complexities turned into a criminal case. The direction of the case will be determined based on the legal proceedings and the autopsy report.
