A Disturbing Incident at a Wedding

Currently, wedding season is in full swing, and it's common to encounter various marriage ceremonies or receptions. However, these events often turn into negotiations between the families of the bride and groom, involving substantial sums of money. In India, many parents view their daughters as a burden, which leads to unreasonable demands from the groom's side. This was evident in a recent incident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where the groom's family made an outrageous request that left the bride's father in disbelief.

The Shocking Demand

The father, who had worked tirelessly to provide for his daughter, was devastated when the groom's family demanded a luxury vehicle worth 35 lakh after the wedding rituals had already begun. Despite having already spent a significant amount on the wedding, he expressed his inability to meet this new demand. The groom's family, however, refused to back down, leading to a tense standoff. In desperation, the bride's family called the police, but no resolution was reached at that moment.

Seeking Justice

The situation escalated to a community council, which ruled that the groom's family must return all expenses incurred by the bride's family for the wedding. However, the groom's family attempted to evade this decision by filing a counter-case against the bride's family. Upon learning of this, the bride's family promptly reported the matter to the police. The authorities took action, and the bride's father expressed his hope for justice, stating that he was grateful his daughter was spared from the clutches of dowry seekers.
