Gruesome Incident in Niwari District

A shocking incident has emerged from Niwari district, located on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. A young woman's brutal murder was discovered, and shortly after, the body of a young man was found hanging nearby. Initial investigations suggest that a romantic relationship and a dispute arising from an impending marriage may be involved. This incident occurred in the Poocha Ki Pahadi area of the Sendri police station.

On Sunday evening, police located the body of 20-year-old Varsha Kevat on the hillside. The young woman had been viciously killed with a fish-cutting knife. Just 100 meters from the murder scene, the body of 24-year-old Harendra Kevat, a resident of Sironi in Jhansi, was found hanging from a tree.

Young Woman Missing Since Saturday

According to family members, Varsha, who hails from Sagar district, left home on Saturday afternoon under the pretext of going to the well, after which she mysteriously went missing. After extensive searches yielded no results, her family filed a missing person report with the police. Tracking her mobile location led the police to the border area of Niwari, where they were shocked to discover two bodies.

Family Ties Complicated the Situation

Relatives revealed that the deceased young woman was already engaged to someone else, with her wedding approaching soon. Harendra was reportedly a relative of the young woman's aunt. According to Harendra's brother, he too had been missing since Saturday afternoon. It is suspected that Harendra lured Varsha to the hillside under the pretense of meeting, where a dispute over her upcoming marriage led to her murder, after which he took his own life.

Police Investigation Underway

Niwari SP Dr. Rai Singh Narwariya stated that no suicide note was found at the scene; however, the knife used in the murder has been recovered. The police are currently examining both individuals' call records to uncover the precise motives behind the murder and suicide. The forensic team has also collected evidence, and the bodies have been sent for autopsy.
