Shocking Discovery in Meerut: Father Found Living with Daughter's Remains

In a shocking revelation from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a father was discovered to have lived with the remains of his daughter for an extended period. This unsettling case unfolded in the Teli Mohalla area of the city, where Uday Bhanu Vishwas, a retired clerk from the Basic Education Department, was found to have kept the body of his 33-year-old unmarried daughter, Priyanka Vishwas, in their home.

After going missing for several months, Uday Bhanu returned home only to unveil this horrifying secret. The skeletal remains of Priyanka were discovered on a bed inside their residence, leading authorities to suspect that her death may have been linked to occult practices.

Upon his return, Uday Bhanu was apprehended by the police. Initial investigations revealed that he had been involved in rituals that allegedly led to his daughter's demise. According to CO Navina Shukla, the police are actively interrogating him to uncover more details.

On Friday, Uday Bhanu was spotted at a tea stall in Begambagh by his nephew, Vishwajit Vishwas. When questioned about Priyanka, he attempted to mislead his nephew, claiming she was hospitalized in Dehradun or Ghaziabad.

Suspicious of his uncle's responses, Vishwajit summoned other family members for further questioning. Under pressure, Uday Bhanu eventually confessed that Priyanka's body was still in the house. When family members and police entered the residence, they were met with a horrifying sight: Priyanka's skeletal remains and some hair fragments were found in a room.

To mask the stench emanating from the decaying body, Uday Bhanu had poured water over it and covered it with dirt. Upon receiving the report, CO Navina Shukla and the local police arrived at the scene. Forensic teams collected evidence, and the remains were sent for autopsy. Uday Bhanu has since been taken into custody.

The condition of the remains was so deteriorated that identification was nearly impossible. To conceal the odor, Uday Bhanu had resorted to pouring water over the body and piling dirt on top. This shocking behavior raises questions about his mental state.

It is believed that Priyanka may have died in September 2025, shortly after Uday Bhanu conducted a Durga Puja at their home. Following this event, both Priyanka and Uday Bhanu vanished from sight. Reports indicate that on December 5, Uday Bhanu locked the house and traveled to Haridwar.

According to the CO, Uday Bhanu initially claimed that his daughter's death was due to occult practices, but there are inconsistencies in his statements. Since the death of his wife, he has been under significant stress and isolation.

His decision to remain with his daughter's remains instead of cremating her suggests a disturbed mental condition. The police are considering a psychological evaluation for him, as he struggles to provide clear answers regarding the timeline of Priyanka's death and how long he lived with her body. The investigation is ongoing.
