In a disturbing incident in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, a man allegedly demanded sexual favors from a woman under the guise of completing the e-KYC process for the Chief Minister's 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme. The accused, identified as Gokul Chavan, approached the woman at her home, claiming he needed to gather necessary documents for the scheme.


Victim Reports to Police

The victim promptly contacted the police and filed a complaint against the accused. In her report, she stated that Chavan promised to assist with the KYC process but instead made inappropriate demands.


Persistent Harassment Despite Warnings

The woman alleged that even after her husband warned Chavan to stay away, he continued to stalk her. Based on her complaint, the city police have registered a case of harassment against Gokul Chavan.


Background of the Scheme

The 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme requires beneficiaries to complete e-KYC, a crucial process to ensure that the benefits reach the intended recipients. Recently, around 6.8 million beneficiaries had their accounts suspended due to incomplete e-KYC.
