New Delhi: A deeply troubling incident has emerged where a 17-year-old girl was gang-raped by three men impersonating police officers in a park close to Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi, as reported by officials.

The victim and her friend visited the temple around 7 PM on Monday. After their prayers, they headed to a nearby park at approximately 7:30 PM.

According to the girl’s account, three men, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, approached them, claiming to be law enforcement officers.

The assailants then threatened the pair and proceeded to assault the girl.

Authorities received a PCR call about the incident at 8:45 PM, prompting a police team to rush to the scene.

One suspect, identified as Asif, was captured following a confrontation with the police, during which he sustained a gunshot injury and is currently under medical care.

Investigations are ongoing, with efforts to track down the remaining two suspects.

This incident follows another alarming case where a sixth-grade girl was sexually assaulted in a shop in Delhi's Sadar Bazaar area after being restrained.

The minor had gone out to buy stationery when she was allegedly lured into a shop by the perpetrator, where she was tied up and assaulted.

The police were alerted on the night of September 16 regarding this incident, leading to the arrest of the 56-year-old shopkeeper, Maqsood, who was subsequently placed in judicial custody.

Earlier, on September 13, another horrific case was reported involving the gang rape and murder of a teenage girl by four individuals, including three juveniles, whose body was later discovered in a decomposed state in North Delhi.

The victim's remains were found near Kushak Road, with parts reportedly consumed by stray dogs, highlighting the severity of the situation.

The police arrested four individuals linked to this case, including the juveniles, after a thorough investigation.
