Shocking Daylight Murder in Meerut Sparks Outrage
Daylight Murder Shakes Meerut
A horrifying murder in broad daylight at Ramraj Market in Meerut has sent shockwaves through the community. Pradeep Dhiman, a resident of Sanota village in Falawda, allegedly shot and killed Sunil, also known as Surendra or Gaba (28), who was involved with Pradeep's wife, Poonam.
The incident occurred around 1:30 to 1:45 PM on Wednesday near the Sanatan Dharma temple in the Bahsuma police jurisdiction. Reports indicate that Sunil had been living with Poonam for the past year and a half, after she left her two children behind. They were reportedly preparing for a court marriage, which deeply distressed Pradeep. He had previously declared in a village council meeting that if he couldn't have her, no one else would.
During the attack, Sunil was riding his motorcycle through the market when Pradeep approached him from behind. He first shot Sunil in the waist, causing him to lose control of his bike and fall. Pradeep then pressed the gun to Sunil's temple and fired, shouting, "Is there anyone who can save him?" A total of four shots were fired, hitting Sunil in the waist and head, resulting in his immediate death. The entire incident was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media.
Immediately after the murder, Pradeep recorded a video on his bike while fleeing, which he shared on his Instagram account named 'Death's Fear 302.' In the video, he took responsibility for the killing, stating, "I shot my wife's lover three to four times. I will do the same to any husband whose wife leaves him. I fear no death; I have a two-and-a-half-meter shroud ready. If anyone's wife runs away, let me know, and I will kill them too. I am not afraid of the police. I will also kill Hastinapur SO AK Sharma and Inspector Anil Kumar, as they forced me to take up arms."
The police acted swiftly, apprehending Pradeep on Thursday morning at the Meerut-Muzaffarnagar border after surrounding him. He was captured in a situation resembling a shootout, and illegal firearms were recovered. Authorities are still searching for Pradeep's accomplice.
This incident, linked to a love affair and revenge, raises serious concerns about law and order in the area. Further revelations are expected as the police investigation continues.
