Tragic Incident Unfolds in Gajuwaka
Visakhapatnam: A shocking murder case has emerged in the Gajuwaka area, where a member of the Indian Navy is accused of killing a 28-year-old woman, dismembering her remains, and attempting to eliminate evidence, as reported by local authorities on Monday. The police revealed that the suspect, who purchased a knife online, dismembered the victim's body, kept some parts in a refrigerator, and incinerated the head and hands in a deserted area near Adavivaram on Sunday.
The suspect, identified as Chintada Ravindra, stationed at INS Dega, had been in a relationship with the victim, Polipalli Mounika, since 2021 after they connected via a dating app. According to police statements, Ravindra killed Mounika at his home following a dispute and subsequently disposed of her remains in various locations.
The couple had developed a relationship over time, frequently meeting in public spaces around Visakhapatnam, including parks and cinemas. Reports indicate that Mounika had allegedly borrowed Rs 3.5 lakh from Ravindra and threatened to disclose their relationship to his wife, which led to ongoing conflicts between them. On the day of the incident, the accused reportedly invited her to his apartment, where a violent argument ensued, culminating in him smothering her to death.
