The perpetrators reportedly strangled the victim and disposed of her body in a well. Authorities were alerted to the situation when they received information about the suspects, leading to a confrontation where one suspect was shot in the leg.
Details of the Case
On April 2, a 12th-grade student left home to attend coaching classes but never returned. Concerned family members filed a missing person report after extensive searching. Approximately five days later, locals discovered a foul odor emanating from a well, where they found the victim's body in a semi-nude state. This prompted police action, resulting in a shootout with the suspects.
Police Encounter with Suspects
Following a tip-off about the suspects' whereabouts in the Uldan police station area, law enforcement launched a search operation. When officers attempted to stop two individuals on a motorcycle near the Nimouni Rapat Bridge, the suspects opened fire. In the exchange, both were shot in the legs and were subsequently apprehended and taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Identifying the Suspects
During interrogation, the suspects identified themselves as Shailendra Ahirwar and Thakurdas. Police recovered two firearms, ammunition, a motorcycle, and three mobile phones, including the victim's device. All items have been seized, and further investigations are ongoing.
