Alarming Allegations of Abuse in Agra

A disturbing case has emerged from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, involving allegations of dowry harassment, sexual abuse, and coercion to engage in relations with another man. Following seven months of marriage, the victim's father has filed a complaint against his son-in-law and the in-laws. The investigation into this matter is currently ongoing.

The incident took place in the Kamla Nagar area. According to the victim's father, his daughter was married in November 2024, with expenses totaling approximately ₹1.5 crore, which included gold jewelry, ₹40 lakh in cash, a car, and furniture. However, shortly after the wedding, the in-laws began demanding an additional ₹2 crore as dowry. When this demand was not met, the victim faced both physical and mental abuse.

Threats and Coercion in the Bedroom

The victim claims that her husband brutally assaulted her with a stick and subjected her to unnatural acts. Alarmingly, he had installed a hidden camera in their bedroom, capturing inappropriate videos of her. He allegedly blackmailed her with these videos, threatening to make them public. When she confided in her in-laws, they too began to threaten her.

Assault and Attempted Strangulation

The victim recounted an incident where her husband took her to a house where another man was already present. He pressured her to engage with this man, who also threatened her. After managing to escape back home, her father-in-law allegedly raped her. When she reported this heinous act to her husband, he reportedly attempted to strangle her. The following day, she managed to reach her parental home and shared her ordeal with her family. ACP Chhatta, Piyush Kant Rai, confirmed that a case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
