Incident of Betrayal and Brutality

Lakhimpur Kheri: A deeply disturbing incident of betrayal and brutality has emerged from Lakhimpur Kheri district in Uttar Pradesh. A man has violated the trust of his employer by repeatedly assaulting his ill wife.

The accused has been apprehended and is now in custody. The victim, a 41-year-old woman from the Palia area, has been battling severe mental health issues (depression) for some time, requiring her to take strong medications that often left her in a deep sleep.

The 28-year-old perpetrator, Ayush, who assisted with household chores and also worked at the victim's husband's shop, exploited her vulnerability. He believed that the effects of the medication would keep her unaware of his actions.

Caught in the Act: This abuse had been ongoing for a while, but the truth came to light on February 13. On that day, the woman had not taken her medication for some reason. When the accused attempted to assault her as usual, she unexpectedly woke up and caught him in the act.

Faced with exposure, Ayush revealed his true nature and threatened the victim to keep silent. Terrified, she remained quiet for several days but eventually found the courage to confide in her husband.

Police Action and Arrest: On February 23, the victim's husband filed a complaint with the police. Palia SHO Pankaj Tripathi stated that given the seriousness of the case, an FIR was promptly registered. Charges were filed against the accused under Section 64 (Rape) and Section 351(3) (Criminal Threat) of the Indian Penal Code. The police set a trap and arrested Ayush on February 25. He is currently behind bars, and the investigation is ongoing.
