Shashi Tharoor Leads Delegation to Panama, Highlights Terrorism Concerns
Congress Delegation Engages with Panama's Leadership
A multi-party delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor recently met with Panama's President and Foreign Minister, presenting them with images of Pakistani military officials participating in the funeral of UN-designated terrorists killed in India's Operation Sindoor. Just a day prior, the delegation had discussions with the President of the Panama Assembly and other lawmakers to clarify India's stance on terrorism and its connections to Pakistan.
This meeting with President José Raúl Mulino is part of India's ongoing efforts to reaffirm its commitment against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.
Tharoor Condemns Pakistan's Support for Terrorism
During the delegation's visit, Tharoor, addressing the Indian community in Panama, strongly condemned Pakistan's continuous backing of terrorism aimed at India. Speaking at the Sociedad Hindostan de Panama, he remarked that Pakistan has failed to respect India's peaceful intentions. He emphasized that despite India's desire for peaceful coexistence, Pakistan has repeatedly attacked, seeking control over regions that are part of India's sovereign territory.
Tharoor noted that India has endured nearly four decades of terrorist assaults, beginning with the conflict in Kashmir in 1989. He expressed that it is unacceptable for India to suffer pain and loss without seeking assistance from the international community, urging them to recognize the ongoing challenges faced by India.
