Speaking to a news agency on Wednesday, Tharoor pointed out that if individuals are entering the country illegally or overstaying their visas, it indicates significant gaps in border management and immigration control.

Concerns Over Illegal Immigration

Tharoor questioned, "If illegal immigrants are entering our nation, isn't that a failure on our part? Shouldn't we enhance our border control?" He asserted that the government has the authority to take action against such violations. He emphasized that if anyone is in the country illegally or has overstayed their visa, the government is entitled to deport them. Therefore, he urged the government to fulfill its responsibilities in this regard.

Call for a Balanced Approach

Reiterating the importance of upholding the rule of law, Tharoor also stressed the need for a balanced and humane approach, especially in sensitive cross-border issues tied to political and humanitarian aspects.
