Shashi Tharoor Calls for BCCI to Promote Young Cricket Prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Tharoor Advocates for Young Talent
Congress Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor has made a passionate appeal to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to expedite the recognition of 14-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi. This comes after Suryavanshi's remarkable performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored an astonishing 190 runs off just 84 balls, including 15 sixes. His achievement has made him the youngest player to score a century in List A cricket, reaching 100 runs in a mere 36 balls. Tharoor expressed his sentiments on social media, stating, 'The last time we witnessed such talent from a 14-year-old was with Sachin Tendulkar—what are we waiting for?' He tagged notable cricket figures including Ajit Agarkar, Gautam Gambhir, and Sachin Tendulkar in his tweet.
