This injury occurred while Masood was batting in Pakistan's first innings, contributing to their 90-run loss in the match. Due to the injury, he was forced to bat at No. 8 in the second innings, marking Pakistan's eighth consecutive Test defeat on foreign soil, as reported by the ICC.

Babar Azam Reflects on Batting Struggles

Following the match, Babar addressed Masood's batting position change, confirming the injury's impact on the team. He stated, "Yes, Shan Masood's injury affected us because, unfortunately, his finger is fractured, so we definitely missed him."
