Residents of Mumbai woke up to torrential rain on Friday morning, with continuous downpours reported in several areas. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane, warning of further heavy rainfall. Palghar has been placed under a yellow alert, indicating moderate weather activity, but caution is still advised.

They further stated, "Our officers and staff are fully alert and ready to assist the residents of Mumbai. In case of any emergency, please dial 100/112/103."
Waterlogging has disrupted traffic in many areas. Local train services have also been affected due to water accumulation on tracks and reduced visibility, with some local trains on the Western Railway network running 10-15 minutes late.
An orange alert has also been issued for Mumbai for Saturday.
