Flight Cancellations and Delays Due to Fog

On Monday, dense fog led to the cancellation of at least 128 flights at Delhi Airport. Additionally, eight flights had to be rerouted, while nearly 200 others experienced delays.

An official reported that the adverse weather conditions resulted in the cancellation of 64 departing and 64 arriving flights. Furthermore, eight flights were redirected due to low visibility.

Delhi Airport operator DIAL (Delhi International Airport Limited) mentioned in a post on social media that visibility on the runway is improving, but some flights may still be affected during departures and arrivals.

According to data from the flight tracking website FlightRadar24.com, around 200 flights were delayed, with an average delay of approximately 24 minutes recorded for departures.

IndiGo Airlines posted on social media, stating, 'Fog continues to persist at Delhi and several airports in northern India. Visibility remains low, causing slower-than-normal flight operations and resulting in delays for some flights.'

DIAL manages the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital, which handles around 1,300 flights daily.
