On Monday afternoon, a sudden cloudburst in Pangi Valley led to catastrophic flooding in the Udeen and Hillu streams, significantly disrupting the lives of local residents. The unexpected influx of water obstructed the main route connecting Udeen and Hillu villages, while substantial debris piled up along various sections of the road.

During this crisis, workers from 'VB–G RAM G' who were present in Udeen village found themselves trapped by the rising waters. In a commendable response, local community members initiated a rescue operation, successfully bringing all workers to safety and preventing a potential disaster.

The cloudburst also resulted in severe flooding in the Hillu stream, which damaged a temporary bridge and severed access between the two villages.

Upon learning of the situation, the Pangi administration promptly launched relief and rescue operations. The Naib Tehsildar arrived at the scene to evaluate the damage and assess the situation. Concurrently, teams from the Public Works Department (PWD) are working diligently to clear the debris and reopen the blocked road.

Authorities have urged residents to avoid rivers, streams, and areas prone to landslides until the weather improves, and to report any emergencies to the administration immediately.
