Critical Flood Situation in Dhemaji

The situation in Dhemaji district of Assam has become extremely serious due to flooding. In response to this crisis, the Assam government has mobilized all available resources to assist those affected by the floods. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Sunday that the state government is dedicated to providing immediate relief to the impacted individuals while also focusing on their long-term rehabilitation.

Rail Services Suspended Due to Damage

Meanwhile, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced that rail operations between Archipathar and Simen Chapari stations have been suspended until further notice due to significant erosion that has damaged a railway bridge.

Government's Commitment to Relief Efforts

Sarma shared on social media, "I have been closely monitoring the situation in Dhemaji since the onset of the floods. We are deeply saddened by the impact this disaster has had on people's lives, and we stand firmly with them during this challenging time." He emphasized that the safety and long-term rehabilitation of all affected families are the government's top priorities, and all necessary resources are being mobilized.

The Chief Minister has instructed Water Resources Minister Sushanta Borgohain and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Keshab Mahanta to remain in Dhemaji to oversee the relief operations.

Cabinet Ministers to Camp in Dhemaji

To ensure that there is no lapse in relief and rescue operations, the Chief Minister has taken significant administrative steps. He has directed two key cabinet ministers to stay in Dhemaji and manage the situation on the ground:
