Recently, a tragic attack by Naxalites resulted in the death of an officer, highlighting the ongoing conflict between the government and these groups.
In a recent development, security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district successfully killed a female Naxalite during an encounter. This information was confirmed by police officials.
Indira Kalyan Alesela, the Superintendent of Police for Kanker district, reported to a news agency that the encounter took place in the forest area between the villages of Amatola and Kalpar, under the jurisdiction of the Chhote Bethiya police station.
Details of the Encounter
Alesela mentioned that following intelligence regarding Naxalite activity near the Kotri River, a joint team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Border Security Force (BSF) was dispatched for an anti-Naxal operation.
This morning, while the security forces were patrolling the forest between Amatola and Kalpar, they encountered Naxalites. The officer confirmed that during this confrontation, a female Naxalite was killed, and her body along with weapons were recovered from the scene.
The officer added that gunfire continued from both sides, and security forces are currently conducting a search operation in the area.
