Security Forces Conduct Extensive Search Operations in Jammu and Kashmir
Intensive Search Operations Launched
In response to reports of suspicious activities, security forces initiated extensive search operations on Friday across the Samba, Kishtwar, and Rajouri districts in Jammu and Kashmir. Authorities have heightened vigilance following the commencement of these operations.
Based on intelligence regarding the movement of three suspicious individuals, joint teams of police and security forces conducted searches in the Ghagwal area of Samba district. Additionally, thorough search operations were also carried out in the Singhpora region of Kishtwar district.
Military Commander Reviews Anti-Terror Operations
Furthermore, Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the Northern Army Commander, visited Poonch district on Friday to assess the operational readiness of units deployed for anti-terrorism efforts. The military commander emphasized the need to adopt technology to remain prepared for new challenges.
The Northern Command headquarters shared on the social media platform 'X' that the Army Commander visited Shahstir and Surankot in Poonch to review the operational readiness of units engaged in counter-terrorism activities.
Ongoing Search Operations in Sensitive Areas
Regarding the search operations, Rajouri remains one of the most sensitive areas. Following reports of suspicious activities on December 19, security forces launched extensive searches across various villages in the district. Official sources indicated that this operation began around midnight on Thursday and is still ongoing.
According to sources, based on the information received, a joint team comprising the 49 National Rifles, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Special Operations Group cordoned off the area during the night. They reported that after sunrise, the operation was intensified, with aggressive searches continuing in several areas, including Behrote Gali.
