Security Breach at Ayodhya Ram Temple: Three Detained After Attempted Prayer
Incident at Ram Janmabhoomi Complex
A startling incident occurred at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya when three individuals, including a young woman, were detained after attempting to enter the site for prayers on Saturday. Security personnel stationed at the complex acted swiftly following the event. According to officials and witnesses, the group, claiming to be from Kashmir, entered the temple premises through the D1 gate.
The detained individuals were dressed in traditional Kashmiri attire. One of them has been identified as Abu Ahmad Sheikh from the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The woman is known as Sofia, while the identity of the third young man remains unknown. Witnesses reported that when stopped by security, the trio allegedly shouted religious slogans. Officials noted that a 55-year-old man had entered the heavily guarded temple complex on Friday, visited the temple, and later sat near the Sita Rasoi area, where he was reportedly preparing to pray.
Upon noticing his actions, security personnel intervened immediately. The temple's security staff detained the man and later handed him over to local police for questioning. During the intervention, Sheikh reportedly shouted slogans. The police stated that investigative and intelligence agencies are questioning him to ascertain his motives. Authorities are also examining his travel history, including the purpose of his visit to Ayodhya and whether any other individuals were involved in this incident.
The Kashmiri individual allegedly informed the investigation team that he was en route to Ajmer in Rajasthan. Police found only some dry fruits (cashews and raisins) in his belongings. Following the incident, senior police officials and intelligence agencies are reviewing the security measures in place at the Ram temple complex. However, the district administration and the Ram temple trust have yet to release any statements regarding the matter. This report is based on various media sources.
