Gangsters in Punjab are increasingly working for Khalistani and radical leaders operating from abroad. Official sources indicate that these leaders are allegedly utilizing criminal networks to further their agenda and disrupt internal security.

Gangster Activity and Security Measures

The warning highlights that these gangsters are active in Haryana, the National Capital Region (NCR), Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, gradually forming ties with Khalistani terrorist elements. In preparation for the Republic Day parade, the North District police conducted several mock drills at sensitive and crowded locations to assess the readiness and response times of various stakeholders and agencies. Four mock drill exercises were held in sensitive areas of North Delhi during the first fortnight of January 2026, focusing on critical establishments, historical sites, major markets, and transport hubs where large crowds gather daily.
