Rescue Operations Underway in Haryana


Yamunanagar, Haryana: A search and rescue operation is currently in progress to find two Army personnel who went missing following a boat accident in the Yamuna River at the Hathnikund Barrage, as reported by officials on Wednesday.


The unfortunate event occurred on Tuesday evening.


An official statement revealed that, "On September 1, during a collaborative watermanship training exercise at the Hathnikund Barrage, a boat was caught in strong currents heading towards the downstream barrage.


Efforts were made to retrieve the vessel quickly. However, it became ensnared in powerful eddies near the sluice gates and ultimately capsized, causing the crew to be swept away by the turbulent waters. Currently, two crew members are unaccounted for."


A coordinated search and rescue effort involving the Army, Air Force, local police, and civil authorities is actively taking place, utilizing all available resources to locate and recover the missing soldiers, according to the statement.
