As per Hockey India, the tournament features eight competing teams: hosts India, England, Scotland, Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria. These teams are vying for three prestigious qualification spots for the upcoming World Cup.

In Hyderabad, three direct berths for the World Cup are on the line, with the top three teams from this tournament earning their place in the 2026 edition. The World Cup will showcase 16 teams in both men's and women's categories, with nine teams already qualified, making the competition fierce.
