Following his remarkable performances in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2026, Sanju Samson opted for a modest return to his roots, stopping by a local tea shop in Thiruvananthapuram.


Samson played a pivotal role in India's successful title defense, leading to a victory over New Zealand in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8. The 31-year-old cricketer scored an impressive 89 runs off just 46 balls, contributing to India's formidable total of 255/5, which the bowlers defended effectively, dismissing New Zealand for 159 in 19 overs, resulting in a 96-run win.


This match marked his second consecutive fifty in the tournament, following an unbeaten 97 against the West Indies in the Super 8 stage and an 89 in the semifinal against England, highlighting his crucial contributions to India's championship run.
