Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, the Indian team clinched the series 2-0, highlighted by a seven-wicket victory in the second T20I at Arun Jaitley Stadium. In this match, Samson showcased his skills with a remarkable innings of 57 runs off just 22 balls, featuring 7 fours and 4 sixes, achieving a striking strike rate of 259.09, which helped the team secure the win with 31 balls remaining.

Competition and Team Spirit

The debate surrounding Samson's position in the playing XI has been a hot topic among fans and analysts, especially with the emergence of 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has gained attention for his outstanding performances and was named Player of the Series in Zimbabwe.

Winning is our priority, and individual concerns come second." He further added, "We cannot afford to have a negative mindset, thinking, 'Why was I not chosen? Why him?' Such attitudes are counterproductive."

Samson concluded, "I had not performed well in a few matches, and he was in great form. Our aim was to win in that series, which made the decision understandable from a leadership perspective."
