Sanjay Singh Claims BJP Targeting AAP's Social Media Amid Gujarat Elections

In a recent statement, AAP leader Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of suspending the party's social media accounts in Gujarat, claiming it was a reaction to AAP's growing influence. He highlighted that AAP's posts had garnered 80 million views in a month, which he believes has unsettled the BJP. Singh also mentioned the arrests of several AAP leaders and expressed confidence that the people of Gujarat would reject the BJP's long-standing governance. This controversy arises amid local body elections and follows the defection of several AAP MPs to the BJP.

Allegations of Social Media Suppression

New Delhi: On Saturday, Sanjay Singh, a prominent figure in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating the suspension of AAP's Facebook and Instagram accounts in Gujarat.

Singh highlighted that AAP's content had reached an impressive 80 million views within just 28 days, a statistic he believes has alarmed the BJP.

"The Aam Aadmi Party is making significant strides in Gujarat, actively addressing public concerns. With five MLAs and 14% of the vote share in the assembly elections, our presence is growing," Singh stated.

He further claimed that the BJP's frustration has led to the arrest of several AAP leaders, who have been imprisoned.

"State president Isudan Gadhvi, MLA Gopal Italia, and leader Praveen Ram are among those jailed. Numerous others have faced detention, harassment, and severe actions from the BJP in recent months," Singh remarked.

Despite these challenges, he expressed confidence that the BJP's efforts would ultimately fail, asserting that the people of Gujarat would put an end to the party's three decades of "misrule".

This incident coincides with the ongoing local body elections in Gujarat, during which AAP's Instagram account was suspended.

The situation escalated following the resignation of seven AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, including Raghav Chadha, who have since joined the BJP.
