Sanjay Raut's Strong Remarks Against NDA

On Monday, Sanjay Raut, a member of the Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed his disapproval of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, stating that the primary goal of the India Block is to "oust those who betray the nation." This statement came as the India Block convened a meeting at the Constitution Club on the same day. In an interview, Raut defended opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who has faced criticism from various political figures.

Posters targeting Gandhi were displayed at several intersections in New Delhi ahead of the meeting. These posters featured statements from prominent leaders such as Sharad Pawar of the NCP, Mamata Banerjee of the TMC, Udhayanidhi Stalin from the DMK, and Arvind Kejriwal from the AAP, all criticizing Gandhi and the Congress party. Raut dismissed the critics of Gandhi, asserting that he is one of the most significant and charismatic leaders in the country, and that the government fears him. He confirmed participation in the India Block meeting, albeit virtually, emphasizing their singular agenda: to remove those who betray the nation from power.

Focus on 2029 Elections and Coalition Strength

Raut also highlighted the necessity of presenting a prime ministerial candidate from the India Block for the upcoming 2029 general elections. He stressed the importance of having a unified face for both the general and state assembly elections. Uddhav Thackeray, the president of Shiv Sena (UBT), is expected to join the meeting virtually. Despite evident tensions between Congress and DMK, long-time allies within the India Block, Raut reaffirmed Shiv Sena (UBT)'s commitment to strengthening the coalition ahead of the 2029 elections.

In a message posted on X, Raut mentioned that Uddhav Thackeray would participate virtually in the India Block meeting taking place in Delhi. He reiterated that Shiv Sena (UBT) will remain a dedicated member of the India alliance, maintaining their stance that the coalition must become more united and robust. Together, they aim to tackle the serious challenges facing the nation and bring about meaningful change in 2029.
