Sanjay Raut Backs Mamata Banerjee's Call for Modi's Resignation
Sanjay Raut Supports Mamata Banerjee's Demands
Sanjay Raut, a member of the Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed his support for West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's demand for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resignation, referring to her as a lioness. During a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday, Raut stated that Banerjee's request is justified and expressed confidence in the Trinamool Congress's success in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections. He remarked that Banerjee's call for the Prime Minister's resignation is valid, asserting that the BJP will never win in Bengal, and the results will reflect this in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that Bengal will always remain under her leadership.
Criticism of Modi's Remarks
Raut also criticized Prime Minister Modi for his comments accusing Congress of speaking the language of Pakistan. He questioned Modi's statements, suggesting that the Prime Minister has bowed to former U.S. President Donald Trump. Raut challenged Modi's assertion, asking what language he is speaking if he claims Congress is echoing Pakistan's sentiments. He accused Trump of attempting to weaken India and stated that the Prime Minister seems oblivious to this, implying that the government has yielded to Trump's influence.
Discussion on Baramati Elections
Additionally, Raut addressed the ongoing elections in Baramati, where Congress has fielded a candidate against Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Sumitra Pawar. He described this as a normal democratic process and praised the late NCP leader Ajit Pawar as a significant and influential figure. Raut noted that following Ajit Dada's legacy, Congress has put forth its candidate against Sumitra Pawar, emphasizing that this is part of the electoral process and that anyone can contest. He acknowledged Ajit Pawar's substantial impact in Baramati, asserting that nominating candidates and participating in elections is a fundamental aspect of democracy.
