S Jaishankar Engages with UAE President Amid West Asia Crisis: Key Discussions Unveiled
Significant Diplomatic Engagement in Abu Dhabi
New Delhi: On Sunday, India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, met with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the ongoing crisis in West Asia and its economic ramifications.
Jaishankar's visit to the Gulf nation spanned two days, commencing on Saturday.
Following the meeting in Abu Dhabi, he expressed gratitude on social media for the UAE's efforts in safeguarding the Indian community during the regional conflict, along with warm regards from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He also acknowledged President Al Nahyan's support in enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
Notably, the Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, was present during the discussions with the UAE president.
Jaishankar remarked on social media about his appreciation for the UAE's commitment to the welfare of the Indian community in Dubai.
Earlier on Saturday, he engaged in talks with his UAE counterpart, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on the changing regional dynamics and their implications.
He reiterated India's gratitude for the UAE's efforts in ensuring the well-being of its Indian citizens and expressed confidence in the advancement of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
