Mohan Bhagwat Addresses Hindu and Youth Conferences

During the 'Hindu Conference' and 'Youth Conference' held in Gangapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), shared significant insights regarding India's future and the global responsibilities of Hindus. He emphasized that India's identity transcends mere geography; it embodies a unique 'character' centered around Hindu society.

Bhagwat remarked that the Hindu community has traditionally been inclusive, embracing diversity in customs, attire, cuisine, language, caste, and sub-caste, ensuring these differences do not lead to conflict.

He stated, 'If something good or bad happens in India, it will be the Hindus who will be questioned. India is not just a geographical name; it represents the character of the nation.'

The RSS leader asserted that those who believe in unity and harmonious coexistence truly represent the essence of Hindu society and the nation. This tradition has been preserved despite centuries of invasions and destruction. Such individuals are known as Hindus, and their land is called India.

He added that if people strive to be good, strong, and honest, the country will reflect these qualities on the global stage.

Expectations from India on the Global Stage

Bhagwat pointed out that the world has certain expectations from India, and with adequate strength and influence, the nation can make meaningful contributions.

He explained that strength encompasses not only armed forces but also intellect, principles, and moral values.

Emphasizing self-reliance and the use of local products, he stated, 'We should buy local goods. Items that cannot be produced here can be sourced from other countries. Indian policymakers are engaged in international trade, but not under anyone's pressure. We have chosen the path of self-reliance, and we must continue on this path.'

He further mentioned, 'We should not worry about creating jobs abroad; that is their responsibility. When we talk about globalization, they expect a global market, while we expect a global family.'

Call for Unity Among Hindus

Bhagwat called for unity among Hindus, stating that this should not only be the goal of the RSS but of all community members.

He urged, 'We should make Hindu friends regardless of caste, creed, or profession. This will establish equality. The organization will initiate this, but the community must lead it.'

He referenced Lord Ram's attempts to avoid war through dialogue with Ravana, stating, 'We too must fight against injustice step by step.'

Empowering the Youth for Nation Building

At the youth conference, held in celebration of the RSS's centenary, Bhagwat encouraged young people to seek knowledge and skills abroad but to utilize them for India's development.

'The contribution of youth is crucial for the progress and future of the nation,' he remarked.

He clarified, 'The RSS neither opposes anyone nor competes with anyone. Its sole aim is to build a strong and harmonious society.'

He urged the youth to actively participate in this collective effort. The conference took place at MIT College, where the RSS chief interacted with participants and answered their questions.
