Eagles Secure Victory in Thrilling Match
The Royal Nimar Eagles showcased their prowess in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026, clinching a hard-fought four-wicket win against the Bundelkhand Bulls by successfully chasing a target of 167 runs at Indore's Holkar Stadium.
Mandal and Jain Lead Bowling Attack
Bundelkhand Bulls batted first and were all out for 166 runs, thanks to an outstanding bowling display from the Eagles. Parush Mandal, the Purple Cap holder, and captain Saransh Jain each took four wickets, as reported in a press release.
The Bulls faced an early blow when Kushagra Wadhwa was dismissed for just 1 run off 3 balls. Captain Abhishek Pathak tried to counter the pressure with a quick 31 runs off 13 balls, but his exit put the innings in jeopardy. Rudransh Singh and Shivang Kumar managed to stabilize the innings with a partnership of 41 runs for the third wicket before Shivang was dismissed for 31 runs off 18 balls.
Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals as the Eagles' bowlers maintained their dominance. Anant Dubey provided some late resistance, helping the Bulls reach a competitive total. Saransh Jain recorded impressive bowling figures of 4/28 in four overs, while Parush Mandal finished with 4/31 in 3.4 overs. Devendra Katheit also contributed with two wickets.
Captain Jain's Leadership Seals the Win
In their chase, the Royal Nimar Eagles had a rocky start and found themselves in a precarious position at 90/5. However, captain Saransh Jain partnered with Abhishek Mavi to turn the tide. Their partnership reduced the target to 46 runs needed from the last five overs with five wickets remaining.
They adopted a cautious strategy, avoiding further losses, even as the required run rate increased, leaving the Eagles needing 30 runs from the final three overs. The game shifted dramatically in the 18th over when Kuldeep Sen conceded 18 runs, favoring the Eagles. Although Mavi was dismissed for a valuable 38 runs off 25 balls, Saransh Jain remained composed, finishing unbeaten on 39 runs off 29 balls, leading the Eagles to victory.
Saransh Jain Praises Team Effort
After the match, captain Saransh Jain reflected on the team's performance, stating, "It was a complete team effort. The bowlers did an excellent job of restricting them to a chaseable total, and even though we lost a few wickets during the chase, we stayed calm and backed our plans. Abhishek Mavi played a crucial innings under pressure, and together we focused on taking the game deep. The atmosphere in our dressing room is extremely positive at the moment. Everyone is enjoying each other's success, and that team spirit is helping us perform consistently. We'll look to carry this momentum forward and continue improving with every game."
