RCB Triumphs in IPL 2025 Final

After a lengthy 17-year journey, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has finally realized its dream of winning the IPL trophy, triumphing over Punjab Kings by a narrow margin of 6 runs in the IPL 2025 final. The thrilling match took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where RCB set a target of 191 runs after losing the toss and batting first. Punjab Kings, however, fell short, managing only 184 runs for the loss of seven wickets.

Punjab Kings faced a daunting target of 191 runs. To chase this hefty score, they opened with two uncapped players. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh provided a brisk start, but Priyansh was dismissed for 24 runs, caught brilliantly by Phil Salt. Everything seemed to be going well until Punjab reached 72 runs with just one wicket down, but they lost three crucial wickets within the next 26 runs.

In this pivotal match, captain Shreyas Iyer managed to score only 1 run. Punjab quickly found themselves in trouble, losing four wickets for just 98 runs. Nehal Wadhera and Shashank Singh attempted to stabilize the innings, adding 38 runs together, but the team had already lost three wickets within nine overs.

Poor batting during the middle overs was a significant factor in Punjab Kings' defeat. Within four overs, the team lost the wickets of Shreyas Iyer, Prabhsimran Singh, and Josh Inglis, making it impossible for them to recover. After reaching a score of 72 with one wicket down, Punjab lost three wickets in just 26 runs.

Despite having strong lower-order batsmen like Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh, the Punjab team failed to form any substantial partnerships after losing three wickets. During those 26 runs, Krunal Pandya took two wickets, while Romario Shepherd dismissed Shreyas Iyer for just 1 run, breaking Punjab Kings' momentum.
