Rohit Sharma Reflects on Milestone 400th International Match with Virat Kohli

Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, reminisced about his experience playing in his 400th international match alongside teammate Virat Kohli, describing it as a significant moment in their careers. He emphasized the strong understanding they share on the field, developed through years of batting partnerships. Sharma noted that their continuous communication and exchange of ideas during matches have been crucial to their success.

 

This milestone was achieved during the third and final One Day International (ODI) match against England at Lord's on Sunday. Rohit expressed his joy in sharing the field with Kohli, stating, 'We have played our entire careers together,' referring to Kohli. He added, 'We have had many partnerships, and it’s always enjoyable to bat together. We understand each other very well, and sharing ideas on the field is always beneficial. There was a lot of communication between us while batting.' This moment was captured in a video shared by the BCCI on X.

 

Both players, who have retired from T20 internationals and Test cricket, continue to play in the ODI format, which remains their last format in international cricket. During his innings of 138 runs off 110 balls, Rohit formed a 113-run partnership with Kohli as they aimed to set a challenging score for their opponents. Despite their efforts, India faced a 27-run defeat against England in the final ODI at Lord's, with Rohit delivering a strong performance while chasing the target.
