Dilip's Tenure and Departure

Dilip served as the fielding coach for the Indian men's team from 2021 until the end of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He returned for a second stint during India's Test tour of the UK in 2025 but was not retained after his contract ended. Additionally, Ryan ten Doeschate, the assistant coach, also stepped down after the white-ball tour of England in July and has since taken on a role with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Subhadeep Ghosh has been appointed as the new fielding coach for the Indian men's cricket team ahead of their upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka. Ghosh previously worked as the fielding coach for the India women's team and has experience with India A and Assam's senior men's team.

India is set to commence their two-Test series against Sri Lanka on August 15 in Galle, with the second Test scheduled for August 23 at the SSC in Colombo. Prior to the series, the team will engage in a three-day practice match in Colombo starting August 7.
