Escalating US-Iran Relations

Tensions between the United States and Iran have reached a new and highly sensitive level. Recent reports indicate that President Donald Trump is contemplating a new aggressive maritime strategy aimed at bringing Iran to its knees. This strategy focuses on the Strait of Hormuz, the world's most crucial oil passage. Sources suggest that the US is preparing for a prolonged maritime pressure campaign against Iran, which may include a significant blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. According to a report from a major news outlet, President Trump has instructed his advisors to be ready for a long-term strategy targeting Iran's maritime trade routes.

A Shift Towards Sustainable Measures

This initiative is viewed as a transition from short-term measures to a more sustainable and continuous approach. It is expected to increase economic pressure on Tehran by limiting access to vital maritime routes and disrupting trade linked to Iran's main ports.

Iran's Proposal via Pakistan

Notably, it has been reported that Iran has sent a proposal to the US through Pakistan. According to a report from Axios, which cites an American official, the proposal suggested easing restrictions on maritime activities and resuming normal shipping traffic before discussing major issues, including nuclear weapons negotiations. However, Washington is currently not inclined to accept this suggestion.

Trump Discusses Iran During Meeting with King Charles III

During a meeting with King Charles III, Trump mentioned the ongoing dispute with Iran. The King attended a state dinner hosted by Trump and First Lady Melania Trump at the White House. Interrupting his speech during the dinner, Trump stated that the US has 'militarily defeated' Iran. He further claimed that King Charles III agrees with him that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons.

Trump's Claims on Iran's Condition

Trump has asserted that Iran recently informed the US that it is 'on the brink of total collapse.' He shared this information via a social media post on Tuesday. In his statement, Trump also claimed that Iran requested to open the Strait of Hormuz 'as soon as possible.' This request came at a time when Iran is trying to manage uncertainty regarding its leadership.

Internal Struggles Within Iran

Trump further noted that it appears Iran is grappling with internal disagreements regarding potential negotiations with the US. He expressed confidence that these differences within Iran's leadership will eventually be resolved.
