The hospital's public relations officer confirmed that Singh's father had been battling stage-four cancer and was receiving treatment there but unfortunately succumbed to the illness.

Rinku's Quick Return from the T20 World Cup

Following the deterioration of his father's health after India's initial Super 8 match against South Africa, Rinku hurried back home from the T20 World Cup. After a brief visit with his father, he returned to Chennai to rejoin the Indian squad for the upcoming match against Zimbabwe on Thursday. However, he did not make it to the playing eleven for that game, as the team chose Sanju Samson to open alongside Abhishek Sharma.
