Tragic Loss for Rinku Singh

Rinku Singh, the Indian cricketer, faced a heartbreaking loss as his father passed away on Friday morning at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. The hospital's public relations officer confirmed that Singh's father had been battling stage-four cancer and was receiving treatment there but unfortunately succumbed to the illness.


Rinku's Quick Return from the T20 World Cup

Following the deterioration of his father's health after India's initial Super 8 match against South Africa, Rinku hurried back home from the T20 World Cup. After a brief visit with his father, he returned to Chennai to rejoin the Indian squad for the upcoming match against Zimbabwe on Thursday. However, he did not make it to the playing eleven for that game, as the team chose Sanju Samson to open alongside Abhishek Sharma.

Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian cricketer, extended his condolences to Rinku Singh and his family following the loss. Rinku Singh's performance in the World Cup has been inconsistent, often coming to bat with limited balls remaining. He has accumulated only 24 runs across five innings, remaining unbeaten in two of those, with a highest score of 11*. In 10 T20I matches this year, he has scored 115 runs in eight innings, averaging 28.75, with a strike rate of 132.18 and a top score of 44*.
