Bhopal, September 30: A retired IAS officer was reportedly murdered in his home located in the Surajnagar area of Bhopal, with authorities suspecting a domestic worker who had been employed just two days prior to the incident and is currently unaccounted for.

The remains of Rakesh Agarwal were discovered within his residence, showing signs of fatal injuries inflicted by a sharp object, according to police reports. At the time of the incident, Agarwal was residing with his spouse.

The discovery of the body prompted a swift response from senior police officials who arrived at the scene to investigate.

Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, along with other high-ranking officers, conducted an inspection of the crime scene.

The area was cordoned off, and a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was summoned to gather and analyze evidence.

Initial investigations have focused on the domestic worker, who is now considered a key suspect due to his disappearance following the crime. Police indicated that he was hired by Agarwal just two days before the murder.

"The investigation is still in its early stages. The domestic worker is a primary suspect as he has not been located since the incident. Police teams are actively searching for him, and we are reviewing CCTV footage and other evidence," a police official from Ratibad stated.

Multiple police units are currently on the lookout for the missing domestic worker, while investigators are scrutinizing CCTV recordings from both the residence and surrounding areas to track his movements.

Authorities are also interviewing neighbors and acquaintances to determine if anyone visited the home around the time of the murder.

Investigators are analyzing physical evidence collected from the scene alongside the CCTV footage to piece together the events leading up to the murder and to identify the motive.

As of now, police have not disclosed a motive and are exploring whether the domestic worker acted independently or had accomplices.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and forensic teams are continuing their analysis of the evidence gathered from the home.
