Resignations Shake Ram Temple Trust


Lucknow: Champat Rai, the general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, along with trustee Anil Mishra, has stepped down from their roles, as announced by the Trust on Saturday. This decision comes amid serious allegations concerning the handling of donations for the Ram temple.


In a statement from treasurer Govind Dev Giri, it was confirmed that the Trust has accepted the resignations and will address them in their upcoming meeting.


The trustees expressed their shock over the situation and emphasized their responsibility to conduct a thorough investigation to restore the faith of the devotees, according to Giri.


On Thursday night, law enforcement apprehended eight individuals linked to the alleged misappropriation of funds intended for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.


Giri expressed the collective dismay and sadness felt by the Trust regarding the recent events, assuring devotees that they are committed to a transparent inquiry.


He also reassured that all valuable donations, including silver bricks and ornaments, are securely accounted for within the Trust.


The treasurer vowed to prevent such incidents in the future and called for strict punishment for those found guilty. He condemned any attempts by malicious individuals to undermine the reputation of Sanatan Dharma.


Giri concluded with a hopeful message, stating that the truth will prevail and the devotion to Lord Ram will remain steadfast. Jai Shri Ram.


In related news, the Vishva Hindu Parishad, where Rai serves as vice president, shared Giri's statement regarding the resignations on social media.


Among those arrested is a former driver of Rai, with police reportedly recovering nearly Rs 80 lakh and some foreign currency from the suspects.
